Three Generations.
One Promise.
This isn't just the story of a bus company. It's the story of a family that turned faith into wheels, and wheels into a lifeline for the people of Odisha.
From a Single Bus to a Legacy
In the monsoon of 1998, Suryakanta Nanda and his wife Manasi Nanda stood beside a single, freshly painted bus at Kalipada. They had counted their savings together — twice. The diesel tank was full. An oil lamp flickered on the dashboard beside a small photograph of Lord Jagannath. The first Nandighosh journey was about to begin.
From the very first day, Nandighosh was never a one-person story. Suryakanta took the wheel; Manasi took the depot. He drove the routes, she ran the operations — drivers, conductors, accounts, schedules, fuel, parts and the thousand small worries that keep a bus on the road. Every wheel that has ever turned under the Nandighosh name has carried both their signatures.
There was no grand office. No marketing campaign. Only a promise whispered at dawn: that every passenger who stepped aboard would be carried with care, arrive with dignity, and feel — for a few hours — like family. That promise is still the only business plan we have ever needed.
Odisha's highways became our first love. We learnt their monsoon moods, their festival crowds, their quiet 4 AM stretches when weary students returned home for Durga Puja. One bus became two. Two became four. Routes opened up around Langaleswar, Baliapal, Balasore and Bhubaneswar. The children who rode with their grandparents grew up, got jobs, and started booking seats for their own children.
Today, 28 years later, Nandighosh runs a network of services across Odisha and its connecting roads — and a brand-new bus is being commissioned right now. In 2026, we formally incorporated as Nandighosh Mobility Private Limited under the leadership of Saurav Kumar Nanda, the next generation of the Nanda family. New company. New ambitions. But the same oil lamp still lights the first bus of the morning, and the same two names still sign every decision.
The name Nandighosh is the name of Lord Jagannath's sacred chariot — the one that carries the Lord out to meet his devotees. To us, every bus is a small Nandighosh, and every passenger a devotee we are blessed to serve.
A Legacy in Numbers
Purpose & Direction
Our Mission
To carry every passenger — student, worker, pilgrim, elder — across Odisha with safety, comfort and the quiet dignity that comes from three decades of family-run service.
Our Vision
To grow — slowly, steadily, blessed — from a three-route operator into Eastern India's most trusted premium bus company, without ever losing the soul of a family business.
The Nandighosh Journey
Every milestone is a small blessing. Every year, a new reason to say thank you.
The First Wheel Turns
Suryakanta Nanda and his wife Manasi Nanda — equal partners from day one — place their faith and their savings on a single bus from Kalipada toward Bhubaneswar. He drove, she ran the books and the depot. A family business, a family promise.
Two Hands. Two Buses.
Manasi takes over daily operations of the second bus on the Langaleswar–Balasore route. From that year on, she manages drivers, conductors, schedules and accounts — every wheel that turns has her signature on it.
Four Buses, One Family
Hundreds of daily passengers later, the fleet grows to four. Drivers who joined as boys are now senior captains. The Nanda household and the Nandighosh depot become indistinguishable.
Comfort Meets the Corridor
The first sleeper coach — Oracle — rolls out of the depot. Overnight travel changes forever for families heading to Bhubaneswar and Berhampur.
Reaching Berhampur
New permit, new route: Kalipada to Berhampur, alternate days. Connecting pilgrimage towns, student dorms and family kitchens across 420 km.
Into the Digital Age
While the world paused, we listened. Online booking, live tracking and WhatsApp support arrive — without losing the human touch that defined our first decade.
A Network, Not a Route
Eight buses across the Kalipada–Bhubaneswar corridor, the Langaleswar–Balasore short-haul, and the Baliapal–Balasore connector. A complete district-wide service.
Nandighosh Mobility Pvt. Ltd.
A formal new chapter under Saurav Kumar Nanda — the next generation taking the family tradition into tomorrow. Same values. Bigger dreams. Interstate routes, a brand-new bus, a mobile app and a fully digital booking experience — all on the horizon.
The Nanda Family
Three generations. One name. A single, stubborn belief that every journey deserves to be blessed.
Suryakanta Nanda
“The first hand on the wheel. The man whose pre-dawn prayer began every Nandighosh journey for 28 years.”
Manasi Nanda
“Equal partner from day one. She runs the depot, the drivers, the books and the buses — the engine behind every wheel that turns.”
Saurav Kumar Nanda
“The next generation — carrying the family tradition into a digital, interstate future.”
